Our Departments Training

The City of Marlin Fire Department is a career entity that’s responsible for providing the citizens, visitors, homes and businesses of Marlin Texas with various emergency and non emergency services. We provide service to the, approximately, six thousand residents residing within the Marlin city limits. The overall goal of our department is to provide our community with professional, excellent and quality customer service.   All of our firefighters are certified (at the minimum) as basic firefighters through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection. In addition, all City of Marlin Fire Department personnel are also required to possess their Emergency Medical Technician-Basic certifications through the Texas Department of State Health Services. Training within our organization is continuous in order to provide our community with excellent service. In addition to the prior mentioned requirements, our firefighters are also required to possess their Class B exempt driver’s licenses, and all applicable NIMS certifications. Throughout their career with our department, personnel also obtain certifications in specialty areas such as fire investigation, fire inspections, driver/operator, fire officer, hazardous materials technician level and many others. The existing positions within our department are as follows:

8-Part-Time Firefighters
