I am honored to serve as your Chief of Police and with the men and women who daily commit to providing quality service to our Community. We strive to “Build a Better Community” by partnering with our citizens to solve community problems and to eliminate crime.

The Marlin Police Department provides 24-hour service to the community of Marlin. The Department is comprised of 10 full time police officer, two reserve officers, and eight civilian staff members who make up the Marlin Police Department Dispatch, Administration, Animal Control, and Code Enforcement. All Marlin Police Department staff works to fulfill the Department’s motto “Protecting the ones, you love”.

 

About the Chief

Chief Nathan Sodek began his Law Enforcement Career as a Correctional Officer in 2008. Chief Sodek was accepted into the McLennan Community College Law Enforcement Academy upon graduating in December 2012. In March 2013, Chief Sodek accept a Patrol Officer Position for the City of Rosebud Police Department. While at the Rosebud Police Department, Chief Sodek served as Patrol Officer, Patrol Sergeant, and Interim Chief of Police. In August 2017, Chief Sodek came to the Marlin Police Department in the Criminal Investigation Division as the Departments Detective. October 18, 2018, the Marlin City Council appointed Chief Sodek as the Interim Police Chief after the former Chief of Police retired. On November 24, 2018, the Marlin City Council appointed Chief Sodek as the Marlin Police Department full time Chief of Police.
