Boil Water Notice Rescinded
April 24, 2024
On April 21, 2024, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Marlin public water system, PWS TX0730002, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of April 24, 2024.
If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Richard Cohrs (Treatment Supervisor) or Scott Fornash (Public Works Director at 254-883-3371.
The City of Marlin thanks you for cooperating with the water restrictions during this boil water notice. The leak on commerce street caused a large water loss from 2 of our towers. Due to the pressure falling below 20 psi a precaution was to boil water before consuming. We have sent a good amount of samples to the state approved lab which has confirmed the absence of harmful bacteria. The state requires we do so to ensure the water is safe to drink without boiling, prior to rescinding the notice. Thank you for your patience and again we apologize for the inconvenience.
