Boil Water Notice Rescinded
August 27, 2024

On August 19th 2024, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Marlin public water system, PWS0730002, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of August 27, 2024.

If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Richard Cohrs (Water Treatment Director at 254-883-3371.

Thank you all for bearing with us while we were fixing the big leak on Live Oak. This drained most of the water in our towers. As the leak was fixed, we had an issue at the water plant which cause a stop in water treatment production. The plant was off for about 12 hours. We are glad to tell you that everything is fixed, our towers are full, and the bactis (bacteriological samples) came back negative of any harmful bacteria. You may now resume the use of water safely without boiling water.
