Boil Water Notice Rescinded
November 14, 2025
On November 13, 2025, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Marlin public water system, PWS0730002, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of November 13, 2025.
If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Jennifer Chane (Assistant Supervisor) or Derrick Marshall (Public Works Supervisor) at 254-883-1450.
NOTE: The boil water notice was only for N1 Marlin Unit Prison as they were directly impacted by the low water pressure. The leak was fixed in a timely manner and pressure was restored. The prison flushed all their hydrants the next morning and a sample of the water was taken to a state approved lab for testing.
