Boil Water Notice Rescinded
September 20, 2024
On August 19th 2024, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Marlin public water system, PWS0730002, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to low water pressure which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of September 20, 2024.
If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Richard Cohrs (Water Treatment Director at 254-883-3371.
Note: The only area affected by the boil water notice were those south of Cefco on South business highway 6 which lost pressure during a line break repair. From Cefco to the railroad tracks and 3 homes on old falls road. The line break has been repairs. The lines have been flushed and a Bacterlogical sample was taken to BioChem labs in West Texas. The sample came back good and you may be assured that your water is safe to drink.
