Water Plant Update (01/01/24):
Earlier today, your City of Marlin Water Treatment Plant staff completed emergency repairs that enabled the water plant to resume production on a provisional basis. Efforts to locate and procure the valve and actuator, needed for long-term repairs, were unsuccessful due to manufacturers and vendors being closed for the New Year holiday. Our goal is to obtain and install these parts as early as possible in order to ensure uninterrupted water production.
As a precautionary measure, Level 2 water restrictions will remain in place until further notice. On a water-related note, the City of Marlin has been made aware of a rumor regarding a water main break. Our Public Works Director has confirmed that no water main breaks have occurred and the city’s water supply will not be shut off after midnight (tonight).
The safety and well-being of our community’s citizens, visitors, and businesses is our top priority. Because of this, our city’s staff has been working around-the-clock to mitigate the situation at our water plant. We will continue to provide updates as additional information becomes available. We wish everyone a very safe and wonderful week!
Thank You,
City of Marlin
